Mom’s 1959 Recipe Gourmet Chocolate Brownies

FAQs

What’s the 411 on Phlip ‘N’ Nik brownies?

They’re made from my mother’s 1959 recipe, and I’ve grown up with them all my life – lucky guy! We use gourmet Guittard chocolate, which has been making chocolate since 1868 and is the oldest family owned and operated chocolate company in the U.S. We blend unsweetened and bittersweet chocolate, which recent studies show has heart healthy, mood-enhancing, and other benefits to both mind and body, along with all natural mini marshmallows and scratch ingredients. There are no preservatives, artificial flavors or colors. All brownies are individually wrapped, 3 inches round, and weigh 3 ounces…mmmmmm!

What’s the best way to enjoy Phlip ‘N’ Nik brownies?

How do I keep Phlip ‘N’ Nik brownies the freshest possible?

Enjoy them right away…they’re just that irresistible! However, if you want to savor your brownies over time, here are our two recommendations: 1. You can store them at room temperature for up to 45 days, though we recommend enjoying or freezing before that time. 2. You can store them in the freezer for at least six months…but most folks tell me they’re lucky if the brownies will last six minutes. Also, we DO NOT recommend storing them in the refrigerator. Our experience has shown, over time, refrigeration will slowly dry the brownie.

What’s the Phlip ‘N’ Nik mission?

Feed the world! Inspired by the Band Aid song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” I’ve never gone to bed hungry, and I’m truly grateful. I know the pain of hunger. My grandfather, my mom’s dad, was diagnosed with inoperable stomach cancer. He was 86, living in Miami, and would swim the ocean in the morning and go dancing at night. He was in better shape then most men half his age. My family moved him up to Chicago to take care of him. He refused to eat, deciding that it was his time. I would see him daily as he withered away, changing physically and mentally over time, until he finally passed. His was a choice, but for other people it’s not. We want to feed people great tasting food made with love…and my mother’s brownies are our first offering.
